Experienced Programmer

The role will involve the development of games across a variety of platforms including PC, Console and Mobile.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years professional programming experience
Completed shipped game product on PC or Console platforms
Experience programming games in C++
Ideally some experience of developing in client / server / database model
Additional experience in Unreal Engine, Unity, or other commercial game development engines is an advantage

Duties and responsibilities

Ensure assigned coding tasks are finished on time and to the highest possible quality standards
Ability to work both individually, manage own tasks and as part of a small game development team
Communicate project requirements, technical strategy and implementation approach on an ongoing basis
Organise and deliver the build process and deliverable content when required by either internal or external milestones
Ensure all code modules are integrated correctly into the project with correct versioning and added to version control on at least a daily basis
Deliver accurate time estimates for the programming tasks on a project for scheduling purposes
Identify problems and suggest work around solutions before they impact project delivery

Qualifications

Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Knowledge of development tools and techniques relating to game development across a wide variety of platforms
Experience of game development using C++
Knowledge or experience of using common game development engines and tools
Good understanding of other applicable programming languages

Other

Senior Quality Assurance Tester          

The role will involve working alongside our development teams to test games across a variety of mobile platforms, PC and console.  

Experience

A minimum of 2 years professional QA experience
Shipped at least 1 product for PC or console
Familiarity with bug reporting and tracking software
Ideally some experience of scripted QA automated testing

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Studio Head, you will be responsible for testing a number of games in development in our UK studio.
Develop and Execute test plans.
Test the game, report bugs, verify they are fixed.
Reproduce community reported bugs.
Create a build verification test and ensure that each release build is passed through it.
Work with programmers to develop automated testing systems.

Qualifications

Passionate gamer with an extensive games knowledge across many platforms.
Ability to work both individually and lead a small QA team.

Associate Producer

The role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams across a variety of projects to deliver our games on time and at the highest level of quality.

Experience

Previous employment in a project management or production role or;
Extensive time in a QA testing role within game development or;
Appropriate university course related to game development or project management

Duties and responsibilities

Under the guidance and supervision of an executive producer, you will be responsible for the development and delivery a Lab42 game.
Managing product backlogs, risk logs, reviewing sprints, holding stand up meetings and overall ensuring a team of developers completes our products on time and to the highest standard possible.
Removing any impedance that prevent project staff from working efficiently
Main point of contact for relationships with publishers, contractors and other external partners.

Qualifications

Passionate gamer with an extensive games vocabulary
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of project management software e.g. Trello, Jira, hansoft etc.
Knowledge of agile/scrum methodology
Knowledge of Unity and Unreal engines useful though not essential
